– it’s environment friendly, you don’t need electricity
– it’s cat-entertaining
– cold-protective
– easy to create.
I would add that when you crochet up your data, you get a physical, tactile engagement and a  new appreciation of what it means to crochet ten times as many rows… I mean for a country to grow to ten times its population size. It also looks snuggly warm on a cool autumn day like this.
